What you'll do:
As Director of Data Asset Management you will play a central role in shaping how data is acquired, managed, governed, and leveraged across international markets. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve setting strategic direction for the division while collaborating closely with regional teams to drive operational excellence. You will lead efforts in sourcing valuable datasets from strategic partners—negotiating contracts and overseeing performance—to ensure optimal outcomes for the business. - Define a vision and strategy for the data asset management division that aligns with enterprise goals, business priorities, regulatory requirements, and market opportunities.
- Lead the sourcing of high-value datasets and strategic partners by owning the end-to-end data acquisition lifecycle including strategy development, vendor management, and commercial negotiations.
- Oversee acquisition execution and performance by managing ingestion processes, monitoring data quality, resolving issues promptly, and continuously optimising relationships with data providers.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in data acquisition by advising stakeholders and aligning investments with business priorities to maximise value.
- Design, optimise, and automate workflows for data operations to improve efficiency, resilience, quality compliance, scalability, and reduce dependency on key individuals.
- Establish proactive monitoring systems for data quality metrics, governance frameworks, and operational KPIs to ensure integrity and usability while enabling revenue growth and risk reduction.
- Provide end-to-end ownership of complex multi-stream data initiatives by guiding programmes from design through delivery while managing timelines, risks, and value realisation.
- Leverage global best practices in data management by contributing insights from external market developments to divisional strategy and operations.
- Mentor a team of data professionals by fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the division.
- Build strong collaborative relationships with senior executives, internal stakeholders, external providers, and regulatory bodies to ensure availability and compliance of data assets.

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or Business; Master’s degree preferred for advanced understanding.
- CDMP certification demonstrating commitment to industry standards in data management practices.
- At least eight years’ experience in data management or analytics roles with five years at senior leadership level overseeing complex environments.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining high levels of organisation under tight deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience within credit reporting or financial services industry providing insight into sector-specific challenges around compliance and governance.
- Deep understanding of sourcing strategies for datasets including ingestion pipelines; familiarity with software development principles; database structures; quality frameworks; governance best practices.
- Demonstrated experience working within regulatory frameworks ensuring compliance throughout all stages of asset management.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling facilitation between diverse stakeholder groups; negotiation skills required for vendor management.
- Ability to operate independently applying strong business acumen converting capabilities into measurable commercial outcomes.
