A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Information Security Officer to join its Asia office, based in Taguig.

This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the information security landscape across multiple entities in the Wholesale Banking sector throughout the Asia region. As part of a highly skilled and supportive team, you will drive region-wide security initiatives, influence strategic decision-making, and ensure robust protection against evolving cyber threats. The organisation offers a collaborative environment where your expertise will be valued, and your professional growth actively supported. Flexible working opportunities and access to world-class training resources are just some of the benefits you can expect as you help safeguard critical business operations.

  • Take ownership of information security management for all Wholesale Banking entities in Asia, ensuring alignment with global strategies and standards while adapting to local requirements.
  • Work within a knowledgeable and dependable team of subject matter experts, collaborating across international locations to deliver best-in-class cybersecurity solutions and risk management practices.
  • Enjoy flexible working opportunities, ongoing training, and the chance to make a significant impact on both regional and global levels within a supportive leadership structure.

What you'll do:

As an Information Security Officer, you will play an instrumental role in steering comprehensive information security management for all Wholesale Banking entities throughout Asia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve close collaboration with both local business units and global teams to ensure that all security policies, standards, and capabilities are effectively rolled out. You will be at the forefront of assessing regional cyber threats and translating them into actionable plans that protect critical assets. By acting as a trusted advisor to business leaders and project teams alike, you will ensure that security considerations are embedded into every aspect of operations. Your expertise will also be called upon during regulatory audits and when managing third-party risks. In addition to technical oversight, you will champion training initiatives that raise awareness at every level of the organisation. Success in this role means not only safeguarding systems but also fostering a culture where everyone feels responsible for maintaining high standards of cybersecurity.

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of information security change initiatives across all Wholesale Banking entities in Asia, ensuring these align with global CISO strategies and technology objectives.
  • Integrate information security deliverables seamlessly into business operations by collaborating closely with teams responsible for sourcing, procurement, data protection, operational resilience, and non-financial risk management.
  • Assess the impact of emerging security threats specific to the Asia region, translating complex risks into practical measures and tracking their implementation across diverse business units.
  • Act as a trusted subject matter expert by providing clear security advice and consultancy to business management teams, proactively engaging in projects to embed robust security requirements from inception through delivery.
  • Lead or contribute to cyber scenario analyses alongside business stakeholders and other security teams, overseeing red teaming activities to test organisational resilience against sophisticated threats.
  • Manage regulatory changes related to cybersecurity by conducting thorough reviews or assessments of new requirements, serving as a key point of contact during internal or external audits.
  • Support third-party cyber risk management obligations by assisting contract owners in vendor assessments, streamlining processes, and ensuring contractual compliance with established risk standards.
  • Drive training and awareness programmes that foster a culture of shared responsibility for information security throughout the organisation.
  • Coordinate with global capability leads and subject matter experts located worldwide to share knowledge, harmonise approaches, and implement best practices across regions.
  • Monitor progress on all assigned initiatives, reporting regularly on status updates while identifying areas for continuous improvement.

What you bring:

To excel as an Information Security Officer in this role, your background should include substantial experience within cybersecurity or IT risk management environments—ideally gained from working with large-scale organisations or financial institutions. Your interpersonal skills will be vital as you collaborate across departments and geographies; being able to communicate complex ideas simply is crucial when influencing senior stakeholders or guiding project teams. A deep understanding of regulatory requirements affecting information security within Asia’s financial sector will allow you to navigate compliance challenges smoothly. You should also bring hands-on experience supporting third-party risk assessments and implementing effective controls throughout supply chains. Above all else, your commitment to continuous learning—combined with empathy for others’ perspectives—will help foster an inclusive culture where everyone feels empowered to contribute towards shared goals.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in cybersecurity or IT risk management topics such as Attack Surface Management, Security Detection & Response, IT & Cyber Risk Management, or Identity & Access Management is essential for success in this position.
  • Strong analytical skills paired with critical thinking abilities enable you to translate complex technical concepts into practical solutions that address real-world challenges faced by the organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills are required so you can convey intricate technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the business.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively with diverse groups ensures that shared objectives are met efficiently while fostering mutual support among colleagues.
  • Experience advising on or integrating information security requirements into business projects demonstrates your capacity for proactive engagement with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks relevant to cybersecurity within the financial services sector allows you to manage compliance obligations confidently during audits or assessments.
  • A track record supporting third-party cyber risk management processes shows your understanding of vendor assessment methodologies and contractual compliance needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning reflects your curiosity about emerging threats and dedication to staying ahead in a rapidly evolving field.
  • Upholding organisational values such as integrity, dependability, empathy, inclusivity, and teamwork aligns you with the company’s core expectations for behaviour.
