Cybersecurity Officer

A leading financial institution in the Philippines is seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Officer to join their team as an individual contributor. What you'll do:

• Liaise regularly with head office and Asia Pacific Corporate Function Coordination Department on all matters related to cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with global policies and procedures.
• Conduct thorough cyber risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities within systems and recommend effective mitigation strategies tailored to organisational needs.
• Support incident response activities by assisting in investigation, containment, recovery efforts, and post-incident analysis to strengthen future defences.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and detailed analysis using Tenable software to proactively detect potential threats before they can impact operations.
• Manage deployment, configuration, and ongoing support of Symantec Endpoint Protection solutions across multiple endpoints within the organisation.
• Assist in developing, updating, and implementing cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures that comply with local regulations and international frameworks.
• Provide essential support during annual Cyber Risk Assessments (CRA) and Vulnerability Assessments as mandated by head office requirements.
• Oversee management, monitoring, and deployment of antivirus software solutions to maintain optimal endpoint security throughout the enterprise.
• Apply hardening techniques to workstations prior to deployment into production environments to minimise exposure to cyber threats.
• Contribute expertise in patch management processes by supporting timely updates for software applications and operating systems.

What you bring:

• Minimum five years of professional experience in cybersecurity roles within complex organisational environments is required for this position.
• Demonstrated expertise in conducting cyber risk assessments as well as hands-on involvement in incident response activities is essential.
• Proven experience utilising Tenable vulnerability management solutions for scanning and analysis is highly valued.
• Familiarity with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms along with practical knowledge of Symantec Endpoint Protection deployments is necessary.
• Possession of at least one recognised cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, or equivalent is mandatory for consideration.
• Comprehensive understanding of network security principles, endpoint protection strategies, and industry-standard security best practices is expected.
• Awareness of Philippine-specific cybersecurity regulations including BSP’s policies on data privacy is important for ensuring compliance.
• Exceptional analytical abilities combined with clear communication skills are vital for effective problem-solving within cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work both independently on assigned tasks as well as collaboratively within diverse groups is crucial for success in this role.
• Familiarity with key cybersecurity standards and frameworks such as NIST or ISO/IEC 27001 & 27002 will be advantageous.
