Cybersecurity Officer

A leading financial institution is seeking a Cybersecurity Officer to join their team in Makati. What you'll do:

• Implement and maintain cybersecurity technologies and controls to protect networks, systems, endpoints, and applications.
• Configure, administer, and optimise security solutions in line with organisational standards and industry best practices.
• Conduct risk assessments, threat analysis, and vulnerability management, recommending and implementing remediation measures.
• Manage security patching and system hardening across servers, databases, network devices, and operating systems.
• Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, recovery, and root cause analysis.
• Administer cybersecurity tools such as EDR, SIEM, firewalls, IPS, WAF, DLP, email security, and vulnerability management solutions.
• Assist in implementing identity security controls, including Privileged Access Management (PAM) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
• Provide cybersecurity guidance for infrastructure and application projects to ensure security is embedded throughout the implementation lifecycle.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• At least five years' experience in cybersecurity, system or network engineering, with expertise in security operations, risk management, or cybersecurity planning.
• Strong knowledge of network and infrastructure security, including Windows environments, Active Directory, VMware, firewalls, VPNs, and LAN/WAN technologies.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
• Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and patch management tools is an advantage.
• Understanding of IT governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to support audits and compliance activities.
