What you'll do:
As Security Platform Engineering Head, you will play a central role in safeguarding critical technology assets by architecting secure infrastructure solutions across both traditional data centres and leading cloud platforms. - Oversee vulnerability scanning processes and manage patching activities to maintain compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Support incident response efforts by providing expert guidance during security events, helping to contain threats and minimise impact.
- Continuously assess existing infrastructure for potential risks or weaknesses, recommending improvements to enhance overall security posture.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to security architecture, operational procedures, and incident response protocols.
- Mentor junior engineers within the team by sharing expertise in cloud security technologies and best practices for secure infrastructure management.

- Proven track record (3-5 years) embedding security within DevSecOps or DevOps pipelines by integrating automated controls into CI/CD workflows.
- Deep understanding of vulnerability management processes including scanning tools selection, patch management strategies, remediation tracking, and compliance reporting.
- Hands-on expertise supporting incident response activities—analysing threats quickly while collaborating effectively with stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of cloud-native security features (IAM policies, encryption methods, network segmentation) as well as traditional perimeter defences for hybrid architectures.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling you to mentor junior engineers while fostering co-operation among cross-functional teams focused on shared objectives.
- Excellent written communication abilities for producing clear documentation covering architecture decisions, operational runbooks, incident reports, and policy updates.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning—keeping up-to-date with emerging cyber threats as well as new tools or frameworks relevant to platform protection.
