DevSecOps Engineer

Save job

A leading global market research organisation is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join their Manila-based team, with flexible working arrangements available.

This role offers the opportunity to work closely with both Engineering and IT teams, ensuring that infrastructure and deployment practices are secure, reliable, and efficient. You will be part of a passionate group dedicated to helping some of the world’s largest brands understand and influence consumer behaviour. The organisation values transparency, inclusivity, and personal development, providing competitive benefits, personalised training, and mentorship. If you are looking for a workplace where your contributions are visible, your growth is supported, and you feel genuinely cared for as part of a welcoming team, this is the perfect opportunity.

  • Enjoy flexible working policies that allow you to balance your professional and personal life while contributing to impactful projects.
  • Benefit from transparent communication regarding mission progress, values, goals, and accountability metrics—ensuring you always know where you stand.
  • Join a supportive team environment where training, mentorship, and development are prioritised alongside competitive benefits and ethical commitment to inclusivity.

What you'll do:

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building a secure foundation for the organisation’s digital operations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing cloud infrastructure in Azure that supports both reliability and scalability. You will streamline CI/CD pipelines so engineers can deploy quickly while maintaining high standards of safety. By embedding security into every stage of the engineering workflow—from code scanning to secrets management—you will help identify issues early and resolve them efficiently. Your expertise in identity management will ensure seamless access control across applications and services. Monitoring systems will be tuned for actionable insights rather than noise, allowing swift incident response when needed. Tooling decisions will be made thoughtfully to keep architecture simple yet effective. Success in this role means creating an environment where engineers feel empowered to innovate safely within well-understood systems.

  • Design and maintain cloud infrastructure in Azure to ensure robust performance and security across all engineering environments.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines by streamlining workflows and enabling rapid yet safe deployments.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to simplify environments, removing unnecessary complexity and friction from daily operations.
  • Integrate security measures into CI/CD processes including static application security testing (SAST), dependency scanning, and secrets management.
  • Work directly with engineering teams to address vulnerabilities pragmatically without hindering productivity or innovation.
  • Ensure proportionate and usable security controls that empower rather than restrict engineering workflows.
  • Manage identity and access using Entra / Azure Active Directory for applications and services, supporting secure authentication patterns such as SSO, RBAC, and least privilege principles.
  • Standardise access protocols across services to enhance reliability and reduce risk.
  • Set up comprehensive logging, observability, and monitoring systems to support incident response and root cause analysis while focusing on meaningful signals.
  • Evaluate existing tools within the architecture to remove overlap, avoid unnecessary vendors or complexity, and favour built-in platform capabilities where appropriate.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the DevSecOps Engineer role brings deep technical knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure combined with practical experience in deploying secure infrastructure at scale. Your background includes building CI/CD pipelines that facilitate collaboration between engineering teams while maintaining rigorous security standards. You have worked extensively with tools for code scanning, dependency analysis, secrets management—and ideally container security—allowing you to embed protection seamlessly into development workflows. Your understanding of identity management enables you to implement robust access controls using modern authentication methods. Beyond technical skills, your approach is grounded in practicality: you simplify processes wherever possible instead of complicating them with unnecessary tools or vendors. You thrive in collaborative environments where open communication is valued; your empathy helps build dependable relationships across departments. Security is not just a checklist but an integral part of enabling business growth through safe innovation.

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Azure or similar cloud platforms is essential for managing complex infrastructure requirements.
  • Proven ability in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that enable rapid yet secure software deployments across multiple teams.
  • Familiarity with static application security testing (SAST), dependency scanning techniques, and secrets management tools is required for embedding security into workflows.
  • Experience with container security is considered advantageous but not mandatory for this position.
  • Demonstrated expertise in identity and access management using Entra / Azure AD as well as implementing secure authentication patterns such as SSO, RBAC, and least privilege principles.
  • Comfortable collaborating across engineering and IT boundaries to drive shared outcomes without introducing unnecessary complexity or friction.
  • A practical mindset that favours simplification over theoretical solutions ensures minimal tooling with maximum impact.
  • Ability to question existing tools constructively rather than simply adding more vendors or products into the stack.
  • Security should be viewed as an enabler for business objectives rather than a blocker; candidates must be comfortable making trade-offs between risk mitigation and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary for fostering trustful relationships within diverse teams focused on communal success.
