DevSecOps Engineer

What you'll do:

As a DevSecOps Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, securing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and deployment processes. You will work closely with Engineering and IT teams to embed security into the development lifecycle while ensuring systems remain reliable, scalable, and efficient. Success in this role requires balancing security, operational effectiveness, and engineering productivity.

• Design and maintain secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in Azure.

• Support and optimise CI/CD pipelines to enable efficient and secure software deployments.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to simplify environments and improve operational efficiency.

• Integrate security controls into CI/CD processes, including SAST, dependency scanning, and secrets management.

• Partner with engineering teams to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities.

• Implement practical security controls that support engineering productivity while reducing risk.

• Manage identity and access through Entra ID (Azure AD), including SSO, RBAC, and least-privilege access models.

• Standardise authentication and access management practices across services.

• Establish logging, monitoring, and observability capabilities to support incident response and troubleshooting.

• Evaluate existing tools and processes, reducing unnecessary complexity and maximising platform-native capabilities.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and security integration. You are comfortable working across Engineering and IT functions, implementing practical security measures that enable business and technology objectives.

• Hands-on experience with Azure or similar cloud platforms.

• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, including SAST, dependency scanning, and secrets management.

• Experience with identity and access management using Entra ID / Azure AD.

• Understanding of secure authentication methods such as SSO, RBAC, and least-privilege principles.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering and IT teams.

• Practical mindset with a focus on simplifying processes and reducing unnecessary tooling complexity.

• Ability to evaluate existing solutions and identify opportunities for optimisation.

• Understanding that security should enable business objectives while managing risk appropriately.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
