Architect

Our client is on a mission to revolutionise the payment and settlement services industry. They are seeking an experienced Architect to join their team, based in Makati. This role will focus on the Payment Initiation & Order Management domain, where you'll have the opportunity to design, build and operate high-quality, efficient payment systems.

What you'll do:

• Take full responsibility for designing end-to-end technology solutions that balance business objectives with IT, finance, security, risk, legal, and compliance considerations.
• Define and propose appropriate architecture strategies for both current operations and future target states across various business domains within the bank.
• Conduct thorough assessments and proof-of-concepts to evaluate solution options at both high-level and detailed levels, ensuring alignment with established design principles.
• Develop and help implement the architecture and engineering roadmap in collaboration with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
• Work closely with Business and IT teams to ensure all solutions adhere to organisational target architecture, strategy, and technology standards.
• Lead architectural activities by facilitating discussions among Project Stakeholders.
• Ensure the quality of entire solutions by overseeing architectural processes from inception through delivery while maintaining compliance with internal policies.
• Participate actively in mandatory training programmes to stay updated on regulatory requirements and organisational best practices.
• Provide expert guidance on architecture patterns including Domain Driven Design as well as software and data modelling methodologies.
• Support the adoption of new technologies such as containers, orchestration platforms, web services, component-based web applications, mobile apps (native/hybrid), relational databases, NoSQL databases, and public cloud environments.

What you bring:

• Demonstrated experience as an architect or similar function within complex IT environments where collaboration is essential for success.
• Comprehensive engineering background in software development enabling you to understand technical constraints and opportunities when designing solutions.
• Proficiency in multiple architecture patterns such as Domain Driven Design which allows you to create scalable and maintainable systems.
• Expertise in various software and data modelling methodologies supporting effective communication between technical teams.
• In-depth knowledge of IT processes including Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) ensuring structured project delivery.
• Familiarity with web services architectures as well as 12 Factor App principles for building resilient applications.
• Experience designing component-based web applications alongside native or hybrid mobile apps for seamless user experiences across platforms.
• Hands-on knowledge of containerisation technologies (e.g., Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) for modern deployment strategies.
• Understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) as well as NoSQL alternatives (e.g., MongoDB) for flexible data storage solutions.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English enabling clear stakeholder engagement and conflict management.
