Discover how Aly found a sense of purpose by building relationships and positively impacting lives through her work
My career path at Robert Walters is proof that finding your calling doesn’t have to be a straight path. I finished my degree in Psychology and started my career as a Recruiter in the Robert Walters Outsourcing business. My move to the Recruitment side of the business was a chance to explore a new facet of the industry and gave me the opportunity to find a different kind of professional fulfilment.
The series of training really helped me a lot in adjusting, and I was able to get up to speed quickly. Today, my role as a Managing Consultant is dynamic. My main responsibilities include onboarding new clients, placing candidates, and managing a consultant.
What I find most engaging and surprising about my job is the relationship-building aspect. I get to build meaningful connections with my candidates and clients, and it helps me look at things from a broader perspective. This connection fuels a strong sense of purpose for me.
Every time I place someone, I know I've positively impacted their life by helping them secure a better paying job, a shorter commute, or better benefits for their family.
What I appreciate most about the culture here is the openness and the clear career track. It's great to find a company that rewards you for your effort and results, and I'm thankful for that. Looking ahead, I'm excited to see what I can achieve. My advice to anyone considering a career here is that it's a good place to be if you ever feel lost in your career, it really helps you know more about yourself.
