Accelerating Data Centre Expansion Through Niche Talent Recruitment

To support its expansion plans in the Philippines, our client required a highly specialised Senior Project Management Officer (SPMO) with extensive experience in information technology and data centre operations. The role was critical to overseeing key expansion projects and ensuring successful delivery within ambitious timelines.

Given the niche technical requirements and the limited talent pool, the client sought a recruitment partner capable of identifying and engaging high-calibre professionals while accelerating the hiring process to minimise delays to their expansion programme.

Recognising the specialist nature of the role, our consultants immediately launched a targeted market-mapping strategy across both the Philippine and Singapore talent markets, proactively identifying experienced professionals, including potential balikbayan candidates with relevant regional expertise.

Following an extensive search, five highly qualified candidates were shortlisted and presented to the client.

During the recruitment process, one candidate demonstrated capabilities that aligned more closely with an IT Infrastructure Manager position. Although this opportunity had not originally formed part of the engagement, our consultants worked closely with the hiring manager to facilitate discussions, resulting in a successful placement after a competitive interview process.

The search for the Senior Project Management Officer continued in parallel. While the client initially selected another candidate, an additional headcount for the same position became available shortly afterwards.
