Claire's skills as a recruitment consultant were polished during her first job in Davao. Her contribution to the company provided an opportunity for promotion and relocation to Manila, where she first encountered Robert Walters. Now, she is proud to place talented candidates in niche roles across banking and financial services.

Claire shares her story below:

During my college years, I discovered a strong interest in industrial psychology and knew that it was the career path I wanted to pursue. That goal remained clear and unwavering, even while I was preparing for my Psychometrician board exam. I applied for an HR assistant role where I worked doing compensation and benefits, payroll, and onboarding new recruits. This role helped me create a strong discipline in how I approach my work, but eventually I moved to an audit firm where I focused on recruitment. After some time, my effort paid off and I was able to recruit several talented candidates for specific roles.

From Davao, I had the opportunity to transition to the Manila branch of the company where I further honed my skills in recruitment. Around this time, I was introduced to Robert Walters, and I made the decision to apply and challenge my current capabilities as a recruitment consultant.

As a consultant, my day begins by reviewing my active roles and identifying my priorities for the day. I then follow up with clients, arrange interviews and exploratory calls, and reconnect with past candidates to stay updated on their career plans. I also prioritize meeting with candidates to understand their career aspirations, provide guidance, and build meaningful, long-term relationships.

I became a mother during my first year at Robert Walters, and I'm proud to say that this role offers a healthy balance between my professional and personal life. I work hard to meet the needs of my clients and candidates, but I'm also able to spend quality time with my family as well.

After I came back from my maternity leave, I became more goal-driven to achieve and go beyond my targets. My goal is to fulfill my clients' hiring needs by placing top talent in niche roles. I also aspire to grow into a Senior Consultant, where I can mentor new joiners and share my knowledge and best practices..

It's true that the role can be demanding, but having a supportive mentor and collaborative teammates makes all the difference. Their guidance and encouragement help you overcome challenges and succeed every day. You will also learn a lot from them, allowing you to be creative in how you approach your task of placing candidates to the needs of your clients.
